If your church has a licensed kitchen, can Meals on Mission use that space to prepare meals, store meals, employ volunteers, or otherwise engage with your community?
We have vast experience in meal preparation, food safety code and best practices, catering, and delivery protocols. If your church has a licensed kitchen, the following strategy may be a good fit:
- The Meals on Mission team will tour your kitchen space and determine with you whether the space will work for our purposes.
- We will work with you to identify the recipients of the meals. Those may be individuals and families identified and/or nominated by your congregation, an outreach organization that serves under-resourced populations within your community or those in crisis, or one of our current partners.
- We additionally hope to employ volunteers through your church community to assist with meal preparation and/or delivery.
- We also have the ability to cater events to benefit many types of outreach missions and can work with you on an as-needed basis for such events.
- We will consider Meals on Mission a part of your church’s outreach programming and as such, we will ask for support for the mission. This will look different for each church and we will have very open conversations about how best to integrate that into our partnership.
